The Garage

Found one of my old papers I wrote for Inky Trails....got a laugh out of the memories..

March 2007
The Garage
Spring time around here means clean up time. Clean out cages, put the manure out in the garden area for fertilizer, cut down some of the elderberry bushes that cover everything up, start to weed out around the berry bushes, trim dead branches off the trees, (which should have been done earlier), and Dear Hubby decided after 15 years, to clean out the garage area.
We haven't been able to use it for all the "good items" we have to save, old tires, boards, pallets, china toilets and tanks, lids, old pipes, everything seems to have a purpose to keep it, someone is always needing a "part" and know we keep a lot of junk around here.
His truck is piled high with items to go to the dump, and one area is piled with junk iron, brass, copper, etc. to take to the recycle area or salvage yard. When I come in from work, I am shocked to see two empty stalls to park the vehicles in, and one more to clean out...I am looking at a strange "object de art" hanging from a string in the stall I am supposed to use.
I asked Dear Hubby, "What is that yellow plastic oil bottle doing hanging from a string in the garage ?"
To which he replies "Well, when you drive in there, the bottle hits the windshield, that means don't go any farther or you will go through the garage !"
Now, how many women have someone make them something so special? Yes, he is one of a kind, and I am blessed...I just laugh every time I drive in the garage, and the bottle hits my windshield...I am reminded he cares....but does it mean me or the truck ?
